Come to the Table (Live at Exchange Church)
I was invited to come and fellowship and lead worship at Exchange Church in Forest Grove this past Sunday. My wife Jessica sang with me along with the great band from the church. I apologize for the shaky video. My nephew was helping us record some of the songs live and was doing so without a tripod. This is a new original communion song based mostly on 1 Corinthians 11:23-34. We don’t have a studio recording yet of this song so I hope you enjoy this live version despite the shaky video!
Lyrics:
Come to the Table
As on that night when he was betrayed
Jesus took up the bread and when he’d given thanks
He broke it and said, “This is my body,
I’ve given for you”
So let us remember
Come to the table, examine your hearts
Confess your sins, for he’s faithful to forgive
His body was broken, He hung in our place
His blood was poured out, so that we might find grace
Just come to the table
Come to the table of the Lord
In the same way He took up the cup
“This is the new covenant, written in my blood;
Whenever you drink, you drink of me
And my death on the cross
Forever has washed you clean”
So we eat this bread, for his body that was broken
We drink this cup, for his blood that was spilled
We do this often in remembrance of him
