0 New Song “Wings”
I’ve been busy lately and haven’t had much time for songwriting but here is a new song finally! This song was inspired mostly by Isaiah 40:28-31 after helping our Portland To Coast team this year. I walked last year but due to an injury I was along as moral support and official photographer this year to cheer on my wife and our baby! This is a song about relying on God’s strength to help us on this path of life, he gives us wings like eagles and lifts us up with his strength when we are weary!

0 Take Deeper Root
Storms make trees take deeper roots.
—Claude McDonald
We should let the storms in our lives drive our roots deeper into the strength of our Rock—Jesus! Instead of throwing our fist in the air against God we need to rely and lean on his strength when the hurricanes threaten to rip us out of the soil.
Trust in God and flourish as a tree!
—Proverbs 11:28b
0 No Worries In a Year of Drought
I really loved the assurance and hope this passage brings. If we trust in the Lord he will sustain us even in periods of drought!
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” —Jeremiah 17:7, 8
Let us trust in the Lord and sink our roots into him as our Rock and sure foundation. For in him we find the living water that will not run dry even when it feels like we are in dry period with the heat burning down on us.
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
—Colossians 2:6, 7
0 I Will Sing of the Lord’s Great Love (Live at Exchange Church)
I was invited to come and fellowship and lead worship at Exchange Church in Forest Grove on Sunday, September 1, 2013. My wife Jessica sang with me along with the great band from the church. I apologize for the shaky video. My nephew was helping us record some of the songs live and was doing so without a tripod. This is one of my original worship songs based mostly on Psalm 59 & 89. We don’t have a studio recording yet of this song so I hope you enjoy this live version despite the shaky video!

0 I Am With You
Inspiration & Overview
I wrote this song on November 3, 2012 after being inspired by Cliff Graham‘s amazing book, “Day of War,” which is a fictional account of the battles and life of David and his mighty men. They are currently working on turning his book into an epic movie, and the action filled sequences from the pre-visualization work they have done helped inspire the tone and theme for this song. My dad turned me on to the books as he spent several weeks this past summer at the YWAM base in Kona working on the engineering plans and building of the new studio where the movie for “Day of War” will be produced. David L. Cunningham, who also directed the movie “To End All Wars,” will be producing and directing, along with screenwriter John Fusco, who penned the script for “Hidalgo.” You can check out more about the books and movie here:
